Who is the fastest Surfski sprinter in Sweden? We’ll see. The course is 300 meters long and runs along Åre Beach.
The start is on the water, a technical half turn at a buoy and then full speed in towards Åre beach where you finish with a portage, running across the finish line with Surfski’n in your hand.
SURFSKIS: Nordic Kayakas will provide Nordic Kayak Club Series Surfskis. This way you can avoid the risk of breaking your beloved Surfski before the races on Friday or Saturday.
That means that everyone competes with the same Surfskis in the time trial, quarter finals, semi-finals and finals.
Qualifying is done individually. 16 fastest men and 16 fastest women qualify for the Quarterfinals.
Registration takes place at Åre Beach in front of Holdiay Club Åre.
Time trials start at 14:00 for both men and women.
Heats of 4 people, 2 paddlers from each heat will advance.
After 7 heats we have declared one Ladies and one Men winner.
The quarter finals start at 17:00.
There will be a nice “beach time” out with music, speaker and food starting at Holiday Club Åre.
From lunch time, several things will happen at Åre Strand on June 29;
-You can sign up for a paddling technique course on Lake Åre. Approx. 3 hours.
-Forspaddling certificate training June 28-29 and 29-30th. People particepating in these courses can particepate in River Solo or River Dou on -Saturday July 2. (limited number of places)
-Try and play with SUP (Stand Up Paddle boards)
-Try Nordic Kayak’s Surfski K2’s with mom or dad!
-Try out Nordic Kayak’s new youth kayaks!
-All participants must be aware of the risks of competitions in this type of environment and be well prepared.
-The event has a security organization to minimize the time to evacuate a seriously injured participant. But weather and terrain conditions can affect the time, which is why the mandatory equipment is important to bring.
-All participants, by registering for one of Åre Extreme events, agree on a common distance from doping in sports. In the event that a participant or someone in the participant’s vicinity uses or trades with funds that are not permitted according to the Swedish Sports Confederation’s regulations in force at any given time, ÅE will report this to the federation’s participant’s own federation and suspend the person in question for competition in Multisport.
